In Teesside, the site that will now house a data centre was reportedly also in consideration for a hydrogen plant first. And the research shows that in the US, data centres disproportionately affect communities already experiencing other forms of social disadvantage. (Because of course, which WASPy, gentrified community is going to accept a massive data centre on their doorstep?)
